Social Media and Web 2.0 Seminars in Northern Virginia

by Ronan Keane

People Are Information-Ravenous About Social Media and Web 2.0

I recently started a series of seminars about Web 2.0 and Social Media. And I’m finding so many people excited to learn about the how, what and why of this relatively new phenomenon. Facebook and Twitter are experiencing massive adoption and attrition seems to be low. I don’t think the prediction that Social Media will change the way we live our lives is unrealistic. Start reading Trust Agents by Chris Brogan, Crush It! By Gary Vaynerchuck and my own ebook, Startup Success.

So far in my experience people just don’t know where to start with Social Media. So I’m going to blog about the how, what and why over the next couple of months. Check back frequently.

I kicked off the first seminar in Purcellville, which Bob Lazaro, Mayor of Purcellville attended and was also sponsored by the town. I chatted with the newspaper, Leesburg Today about the first seminar. My next seminar will be at George Mason University in Manassas followed by Leesburg, which the Town of Leesburg will sponsor (not yet confirmed).

Please check back here for seminar dates as well as my next blog about Web 2.0 and Social Media.

Finally, here’s a great video on Youtube about the massive growth of Social Media that includes some amazing statistics.

What are your thoughts about Social Media? Or maybe you’ve got a question?
